You will know that the build up
to the trip was very hectic, so
let me report under the
following headings:
Family.
Elaine’s aunt died on Wednesday
March 9th but I was
able to take the funeral Monday
14th before leaving
that evening. Thursday March 10th
Elaine’s mum was admitted to
hospital having had a mini
stroke and is still undergoing
tests to sort out her health
problems.
10-Year
Celebrations. Peter and Rose
arranged a wonderful celebration
in Kampala: singing, dancing,
testimonies and presents. David
and I were both given a tree to
plant beside the church, so we
anticipate both will grow well
for years to come. Stephen also
arranged a celebration in Kenya.
This was another wonderful time.
There was much love: kind
speeches, reports from the
African countries as Rwanda,
Tanzania, Congo, Sudan, Malawi,
Uganda and Kenya were
represented, a good word from
Peter on John 15 and a delicious
cake for me to cut and share
with the people who gathered.
April 13th
Lancing tab sees the UK
celebration at 7.45pm. Please
pray above all for Jesus to be
honoured.
Rwanda. The
team from Worthing Elim did very
well and established a good link
with Rev. Augustine and his
people. Messages at the Pastors’
conference were well received.
It was good to stay in
Augustine’s home.
Uganda.
Peter gathered leaders from
Bushinee, Biseruka, Matembe,
Jinja, Mympere and Kittetikka.
These key people who had
travelled considerable distances
were keen to be part of Peter’s
team, co-ordinating the work of
LHM in Uganda. The ministry at
Kittetikka was well received and
the celebration has been
mentioned. The Mympere
conference also went well though
had to be scaled down as our
funds were stretched with so
much happening.
Kenya.
The conferences at Dandora and
Kwangare were well supported and
many encouraging comments were
made regarding the teaching. The
door is opening to other areas
of Nairobi and it is also
possible to go back to Buru
Buru. The challenges are
resources of money and manpower
but the opportunity is there. It
was good to meet the widow of
Joseph Omollo and Christopher
Bala’s widow and to pray for
them. Also to renew fellowship
with Professor Wasunna was very
encouraging.
I was very pleased to see James
and Rose from Kisumu where David
had good ministry when he first
arrived this month, also Charles
and George from Mombasa and
Isaiah from Eldoret. James has
extensive plans for a Bible
school and we look to see what
the Lord will do.
TV. Visits to Lighthouse
TV Uganda and Family TV Kenya
were very encouraging. There is
a real sense of family and
friendship not just business
with Gary and Leo the directors.
The LHM contribution is clearly
valued and we are well looked
after with good time slots.
East
and Central Africa committee.
The gathering of the
representatives went very well
and under the excellent
chairmanship of Bishop Stephen
we hammered out a constitution
for an International Pastors’
Fellowship with Africa being
a pioneer chapter. This will be
developed further; we have a
code of ethics and a code of
conduct and a membership form.
We will also continue to pray
for one another the first Friday
of each month. One feels for our
brothers as there are some very
pressing personal needs among
them and also needs in their
ministries. May the God of
breakthrough, open doors of
blessing for them!
The ministry has grown so much
over the last ten years and so
much has been achieved on a very
small budget by the grace of
God. Thank you for being part of
it.
