Dear Friends
We have safely returned from Africa giving praise to the Lord for all
that He did.
NAIROBI. The committee of four
brothers (Maurice, Christopher, John and Silas) worked hard to publicise
the conference and despite hearing of some who were actually speaking
against the seminars, we gathered larger numbers than for some time.
Over the 3 days we saw a 100 different leaders. A key part of the day
now is a workshop session where we divide the leaders into groups and
set questions for discussion then hear reports from the groups These
encourage us that the teaching is being received and understood. Also
the delegates are feeling it is their conference and not just ours.
Over the years many 100s of pastors have attended but there is a core
who have been there from the beginning and we believe we are gearing
up to see that core grow and consolidate. Please pray for the committee.
The one day conference at the Methodist guest house was very successful
attracting pastors from other parts of Nairobi. This was more expensive
than the 3 days at Buru Buru where accommodation is free and lunches
are cheaper. However it is an independent venue and as the Lord leads
and provides, it is well worth doing. We did see 3 people profess faith
in Christ. The meetings are open and so some unsaved can be attending.
Praise God they were identified and surrendered to Jesus! Also a faithful
member pastor Michael was having a crusade at Athi River. He travels
some distance every time we gather and so it was good to speak at the
crusade, he had arranged one evening. 2 responded to the gospel and
I believe one of them was truly saved.
KISUMU. The work God is doing through
James Osare in this region is quite astonishing and we continue to see
miracles and people saved. Let me quote from his recent email. The
first day in the Crusade most people come to learn a lot and see Miracles
when the Muslims, Idols people, Pagans get saved and there was a man
who could not see and read the bible in the crusade where Dr. Brunton
prayed for him until he come back to his normal sight. On Saturday Dr.
Richard Brunton taught in the leaders conference about family life or
marriage many people or couples especially bishops come to stay together
after a long duration of divorce with their wife's. They thank Dr. Brunton
for that teaching about family life or marriage. On the same day when
Dr. Brunton wants to leave for airport, he preached for a few minutes
on the crusade (despite power failure) where the miracles has done most
people get saved and get healed. We also thank evangelist Dr. Richard
Brunton for his special gift he gave us to help the communities we used
the gift to buy medicine which is of great help to the disadvantaged
children and the widows. We received several people in the church. We
therefore kindly ask you to send for us the materials which can be enough
for our Bishops and pastors to continue with their studies.
The time in Uganda was also blessed by the Lord.. It was good to be
with Peter and Rose on the their first Sunday back home. They had been
received very enthusiastically by their people and it was great to see
2 people give their lives to Jesus. It was sad to report that some choir
members did not return as they chose to abandon the team and become
refugees in London. We waited till their ticket expired April 16th hoping
to share better news with you. Please pray for them and also for Peter
and his trustees Phyllis and Ian Hasson. This has been a great trial
but we still trust to hear good news of the missing young people.
TANZANIA. Rev Pius Kongo writes
We greet you in the mighty name of Jesus.
I was overjoyed when I met you at the Golden Rose in arusha during that
seminar though I was in a hurry on my way to Nairobi. I was so Impressed
with your service that I wished other people could also receive the
same. Allow me to extend an invitation to you in our country (Tanzania)
once again. I want to assemble about 400 pastors so as you may minister
(teach) them for a while. We saw increased numbers
and again the committee organised well for us. Feedback was obtained
through the workshops and Bishop Stephen Kiguru assured us that the
approach of just teaching the word and offering no financial incentives
other than lunch was unusual and therefore those coming, are coming
for the right reasons. The desire for accountability in all locations
was very encouraging and the way is now paved for a senior leaders conference
in October where we anticipate representatives from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania
and Rwanda. I aim to go through a discipleship programme with a view
to teaching those who come and also giving a foundation for them to
then teach others.
The invitations after the seminars to go to other parts of Tanzania
and Kenya are there but please pray for wisdom to know how to respond.
It was good to have David with me. We were able to cover more ground
and when together he shared the ministry and was very well received.
It was good to see many friends on April 30 as we celebrated Gods
goodness to us over the last 7 years. The evening heard a number of
testimonies and we were encouraged as a family to see the participation
of our boys in the ministry. Thank you so much for praying.
GOD BLESS YOU
