THE MISSION NAIROBI
The Nairobi conference was well attended, with 80-100 registering.
Some days were better attended than others, but there was real appreciation of the word of GOD, and a real understanding of the need to release me as the work grows.
The church at Kangemi continues to face challenges, but it was a joy to see one profess faith in Christ, and to baptise 14.
The Kawangare church also is recovering from a difficult time, and good progress was made concerning some self help projects.
Joyce Omollo and the children are well.
Bishop Stephen was so grateful for the help towards famine victims in Northern Kenya.
We enjoyed the use of Buru Buru, and also the opportunities to minister to two of his churches and his Bible College students.
Bishop Salmon Obiero also is very supportive.
With his new young son named Richard Brunton (!), they live at this moment in very poor conditions.
Salmon serves about 40 churches, and as a trustee of Living Hope Kenya.
He receives little, if any, finance from this, and needs our prayers.
We were delighted to learn that Family TV Kenya is now showing Living Hope twice a month, and that a Christian lawyer is in charge of the final stages of registering the ministry in Kenya.
It has proved to be a very long complicated procedure but at last it looks like the final documents will be ready for July.
RWANDA
We discovered that we were in Rwanda at a significant time, as 200,000 out of the million slaughtered six years ago were being given a proper burial.
We visited sites which clearly demonstrate something of the unspeakable horrors of that time.
They have chosen to leave dead unburied in some areas, to make a statement that such things must never happen again.
Into this, we ministered to over 120 pastors/leaders, and encouraged them to embrace repentance, faith in Jesus, and to build the church of the Lord Jesus.
The need in Rwanda for godly leadership moving in godly authority is great.
Materially, there is also considerable need.
The church needs healing and a unity between those who fled and those who stayed through the troubles.
A new generation is rising with teachable hearts.
We need to pray that those older will have enormous grace to forgive and to build on biblical values.
One left Rwanda grateful for a dozen or so professing Christ as Saviour, but with a burden for the church there.
We were able to distribute many gospels and materials and also a keyboard.
KISUMU
Over 140 registered, and the response to the ministry was very good.
The lunches and venue were sponsored by local believers, which was a great help.
We took a lot of materials, including Bibles and some clothes, for an orphanage, but always the need is greater than what we can take.
We also need to consider translating some of the materials into tribal languages if they are to have maximum impact.
A crusade in the two evenings saw about 23 profess faith in CHRIST, and a lady shared a remarkable testimony of being healed after years of a heart condition.
Since returning home, I have had letters telling of a mentally disturbed woman being healed, and two ladies healed from malaria.
PRAISE THE LORD!
MAY JESUS RECEIVE THE GLORY!
